The sources i had looked at were obviously not very good as i was still confused! I did a bit of further research and looked for key phrases and rewrote sections of some source i found in a way that was clear to me and could understand them clearly. A problem i found with most sites is that they didnt seem to distinguish between the two very clearly!

Quality Control checks the quality of the product at different stages of production.
Check the product is of a good quality - are there any faults - scratches, marks and defects, is it done to a good enough standard, should it be discarded, (at each stage of manufacturing)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quality Assurance does not check the quality of the final product but the quality of all systems on the production/manufacturing line, such as staff training and quality monitoring. If this is to the highest standard the quality of the final product should also be high
"Are the machines good quality, are the tools good quality, are my skills good quality, are the materials and components are good quality.. If they are than the final product should be to a high standard.
