I had another go at making a circuit using pickaxe. Despite producing a product last year i still feel really unconfident and thought i should revisit some areas to rest myself and gain a clearer understanding. In the new circuit however i have used an LDR to turn on my LED's when the light level drops. I surprised myself how much i had actually remembered from last year which gave me a massive confidence boost! i was also impressed with how much my soldering had improved!
I found it really useful to label my board it was a good way of gauging how much i understood and prompted me to go an investigate if there was parts on there i didn't know.
Attaching my components straight onto the PCB also helped keep it tidy and not loads of wires trailing everywhere which I found confusing. I could see immediately where things where plugged into.
