In today's student led session we were given the opportunity to experiment with finishes on different types of wood. despite having previous knowledge of the types of finishing techniques I had not put this into practice.

- Using different grades of sandpaper (like files) to achieve a really smooth end finish, made me think how I could have used this for my pine legs to get a much silkier surface
- Waxing has protective qualities and not just for aesthetic purposes
- Using the wax sealant before applying way to block the pores of the wood and achieve a much smoother finish
